This policy complies with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and applicable data protection regulations.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you make a booking through hajz.ae, we collect:

  • Name — to identify you to the service provider
  • Phone number — for booking confirmation and reminders via WhatsApp
  • Email address — if provided, for booking confirmation (optional unless required by the Business)
  • Appointment notes — any special requests or medical information you choose to share

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

We may automatically collect:

  • Device type and browser information
  • IP address (anonymized)
  • Pages visited and booking flow interactions
  • Referral source

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Payment card details (payments are made directly to the Business)
  • Medical records or health history
  • Government-issued ID numbers
  • Biometric data

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to:

  • Process and confirm your booking
  • Send appointment reminders via WhatsApp (24 hours and 1 hour before)
  • Share your name and phone number with the Business for the appointment
  • Improve our platform and user experience
  • Prevent fraud and abuse (no-show tracking)

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or profiling purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

4. Data Sharing

We share your booking information only with:

  • The Business you booked with — name, phone, appointment time, and any notes you provided
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — your phone number for sending booking confirmations and reminders via WhatsApp Business API

We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers
  • We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit
  • Database access is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • We implement row-level security policies to ensure data isolation between businesses
  • Regular security reviews are conducted

6. Data Retention

  • Booking data is retained for 12 months after the appointment date for record-keeping and dispute resolution
  • Cancelled bookings are retained for 90 days, then permanently deleted
  • No-show records are retained for 6 months to prevent abuse
  • You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8)

7. Cookies

hajz.ae uses minimal cookies strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we only use essential cookies.

8. Your Rights

Under UAE data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal data
  • Restriction — request that we stop processing your data
  • Objection — object to the processing of your data

9. Children's Privacy

hajz.ae is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Bookings for minors should be made by a parent or legal guardian.

10. WhatsApp Communications

By providing your phone number when making a booking, you consent to receiving:

  • Booking confirmation messages
  • Appointment reminder messages (24 hours and 1 hour before)
  • Cancellation or rescheduling notifications
  • Optional follow-up messages (if enabled by the Business)

These are transactional messages related to your booking, not marketing communications. You can opt out of reminder messages by contacting the Business directly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform.
